Where To Start?

People write me all the time asking me 'how do I get started' and 'where do I begin?' Everyone has different motivations ... sometimes if you keep waiting for a lightning bolt to hit, you'll just always be waiting. Sometimes we have to 'fake it til we make it'. Don't try to change your whole life in one day. Stop hating your body. Your body is beautiful, whether it is where you want it to be or not. Start with self love. Decide you are worth it. Pick one habit to change, just one. Don't worry about your whole diet or exercise regime. Just pick something to eliminate - ditch one bad habit and replace it with a good one. Tackle that habit, get it good and down pat - then do another.

My journey is a span of YEARS. No quick fixes. No diet pills or magic potions. It's a lifestyle. That sounds so cliche but it is true ... how do you want to live your life? What is important to you? For me, it is my family (children). My aim is longevity - but those are MY values. What are YOURS? Make a list of your TOP five values. The top 5 things that are most important to you in your life? What are they? Figure that out first. THEN ... align your energy and activities to meet up with those values. Are you spending your efforts on goals that line up with what you value? If you don't have any goals - get some! After you get a goal - get a plan. A goal without a plan is just a wish. If you don't change anything, nothing will change. Remember:  You cannot fix what you will not face.

I love all books by Tosca Reno. Search her 'Eat Clean Diet' books on amazon. Another book that greatly helped me was PUSH by Chalene Johnson. If you're still overwhelmed with where to start ... promise yourself 10 minutes of intentional walking/movement a day for 10 days ... and with that ... promise yourself 8 glasses of 8 ounces of water every day for 10 days. Just start with that. Hope this helps.

As always, make champion choices,
Debra
